“Pong?” you ask. Pong, we say. For some brilliant students in Germany set about making that arduous time spent by the side of the road – as you wait for the pedestrian lights to go green – a whole lot more fun.
Devised two years ago as an interaction design project by students of the excellently named HAWK University, StreetPong (as it was known then) was a concept so brilliant that designers Amelie Künzler, Sandro Angel, and Holger Michel set about making it a reality.
Now, the renamed ActiWait has been approved by, and installed in, the city of Hildesheim, Germany.
So now you can both reduce the risk of getting yourself knocked down when jaywalking, while also beating your brand new nemesis on the opposite side of the road.
ActiWait now has an Indiegogo campaign, seeking funding for future projects, any of which Gigglebit would be a wholehearted supporter of.
