Zane Lamprey has raised almost US$500,000 on global crowdfunding platform Kickstarter to launch his cutting-edge alcohol consuming apparel, the Drinking Jacket.
Dubbed ‘the ultimate gift for any drinker’, the jacket – a stylish hoodie, really – simultaneously keeps you warm while keeping your drink cold, as well as featuring a bottle opener zipper, drinking gloves to keep your hands warm, hidden flask pocket, and, of course, a sunglasses holder.
“If the Swiss army wore jackets when they were drinking, it would be this,” said Lamprey in the Kickstarter promo video.
The New York-based comedian and writer had sought US$50,000 to launch the product, but with about eight hours to go, he has far exceeded the total, with more than 4,000 backers pledging a donation.
It might be too late to put the Drinking Jacket on your Christmas wish list for this year, but go ahead and order it for yourself. There’s enough of the winter left to be seen drinking in style.
