Philips unveils new noise-cancelling headphones

9 Jan 2015

Consumer electronics company Philips has added to its range of Fidelio sound and vision products with its new noise-cancelling Fidelio NC1L headphones.

Philips unveiled headphones at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which has been taking place this week in Las Vegas.

As reported by The Verge, the Fidelio NC1L will plug directly into a Lightning port (as opposed to normal headphone jack), providing a direct digital connection to a device and its power supply.

So unlike other headphones boasting noise cancellation technology (which reduces unwanted ambient sounds), Philips’ newest product won’t require batteries.

Since the Lightning connector is exclusive to Apple, the NC1L will be exclusively compatible with Apple devices. It is due to go on sale this spring for US$299.99.
