Gigglebit: a drone’s eye view of Ireland’s beautiful coastline (video)

31 Jan 2015

Gigglebit is Siliconrepublic’s daily dose of the funny and fantastic in science and tech, to help start your day on a lighter note.

Let’s face it, drones get a bad press. But their usefulness truly has yet to be fully appreciated.

In Ireland, we bemoan the weather a lot but outside of towns and cities we know there are treasures to behold no matter how bad the climate.

Our epic landscapes and vistas have been wonderfully explored in this fantastic video where drones explore our amazing coastline with freedom.

Most people only appreciate this beauty on the ground looking out to sea. But drones have got the view that only seabirds had until now.

Thanks to 21st century technology coastal vistas from a bird’s point of view are now possible and today we show you wonderful scenes that include the coastlines of Donegal, Sligo, Cork, Kerry, Mayo, Galway and Mayo from the very vantage point of a drone as part of a Wild Atlantic Way video.

Enjoy!
