Sun/Siemens launch student Java competition
Sun Microsystems and Siemens have joined forces to launch the Java Masters Competition, a global competition to give students the opportunity to develop new Java applications for Siemens mobile phones.
The Java Masters Competition is open to all registered students worldwide, regardless of the subjects they are studying. Teamwork is encouraged, so group submissions are acceptable. To take part in the competition, students must register online at www.javamasters.org. The jury will consist of Siemens mobile and Sun technical and marketing experts who will evaluate the applications in accordance with various criteria. For example, not only the quality of the application counts but also its user friendliness and marketability.
The final date for application submission is 15 March. Siemens and Sun are talking to colleges and universities nationwide to encourage participation by Irish students in the competition.
