Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, the highly anticipated latest instalment in the exclusive-to-PlayStation action-adventure series, has been delayed until next year.
The game was originally expected to be released some time in 2015, but developer Naughty Dog has now pushed back that date amid fears the game would not be up to scratch if production was rushed.
“This game deserves every bit of the attention to detail, precise pacing, and nuanced storytelling Naughty Dog is known for,” Neil Druckmann, the studio’s creative director, told The Verge.
“So we’ve made the difficult choice of pushing the game’s release date. Giving us a few extra months will make certain that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End not only meets the team’s high standards, but the high standards that gamers have come to expect from a Naughty Dog title.”
The series has proved to be a smash hit, drawing critical acclaim and commercial success globally. When Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End finally does drop, players will again take control for Nathan Drake as he embarks on another globe-trotting journey, this time setting his sights on the historical conspiracy behind a fabled pirate treasure.
