Now, as we celebrate the release of the Apple Watch, the actor’s tale has gotten a modern update.
Appearing in a parody of the consumer tech giant’s trademark spotless TV adverts, Walken recalls his experiences in a Vietnamese POW camp, and fans of Quentin Tarantino’s movie won’t need reminding what part of the anatomy his character, Captain Koons, hid the timepiece in to ensure it wasn’t confiscated.
The clip (below) is the creation of YouTube user BeefJurgy, whose only previous video was another mash-up – this time of political drama House of Cards and 90s sitcom Full House.
The Apple Watch was released on 24 April, giving gadget enthusiasts their first glimpse at the hardware. Unless, of course, your Beyoncé, in which case you’ve owned a custom, 18-karat gold, double-alloyed Apple Watch Edition equipped with an 18-karat gold link bracelet for a while now.
