Apple bans ‘Fart Watch’ app from Apple Watch

27 Apr 2015

A new app that would have used the new Apple Watch to turn an iPhone into the 21st century equivalent of a Whoopee Cushion has been banned from Apple’s App Store.

The Fart Watch app would have enabled a user to place an iPhone near their target, walk away and then let rip by tapping the Apple Watch app, no doubt pranking a person nearby.

Apple poo-pooed the idea and didn’t see the funny side of the app because it breaches its terms and conditions, according to Cult of Mac.

The tech giant’s App Store terms and conditions sees duplicate apps like prank apps as hot air, particularly if there are too many of them such as fart, flashlight and Karma Sutra apps.

“We noticed that your Apple Watch app is primarily a fart app,” Apple told the makers of Fart Watch.

“We do not accept fart apps on Apple Watch.”

We don’t know why Apple would ban such an app. We think it would be gas.
