GTA 2 Live video uses drone to re-create classic game

6 May 2015

With the help of a drone’s camera, one group of filmmakers has shown what it would be like if the classic game GTA 2 was brought to the real world.

Shot with a Phantom 2 Vision drone in a small Czech town, YouTuber vojta paul managed to recruit a bunch of die-hard GTA enthusiasts to create an amazingly-accurate representation of the game, which was launched all the way back in 1999.

Much like the first GTA 2 game, the player takes on the role of a criminal who attempts to take on the might of a group of mafia gangs, particularly those of the evil Zaibatsu Corporation, who chase this video’s protagonist through the streets.

The director has clearly put in a lot of effort to maintain the accuracy, with all of the heads-up display (HUD) appearing on screen in the video, including health, gang ratings and police-wanted level.

Of course, no one was actually hurt or killed in this video, which will no doubt come as a relief to local police, who might have feared that some paranormal activity had caused a video game to enter into the real world.
