Ricoh completes €500k print deal in Cork

2 Jun 2011

Ricoh’s Irish division has completed the rollout of a new digital production press for Woodland Print & Design in Cork. The deal is valued at €500,000 over five years.

The investment will enable Woodland Print & Design to grow its customer base, offer faster turnaround times, enhance digital print quality and reduce costs.

Established in 1999, Woodland Print & Design has grown to become one of the leading commercial printers in the Munster area. It offers full-service design and print to an extensive range of private and public-sector organisations in Cork and throughout the Munster region.

Following its most successful year to date in 2010, Woodland Print & Design made a decision to invest in a fast, robust and versatile production press to meet current and projected increases in demand. Following an in-depth analysis of options from leading print vendors, Woodland Print & Design chose Ricoh’s latest digital production press.

Ricoh has installed its Pro C901 Graphic Arts Edition at Woodland Print & Design’s premises in Little Island, Cork. The new machine is now handling all digital print runs from one to 2,000 units. This includes a wide range of outputs, including books, manuals, brochures, leaflets and posters.

“Whether it’s a marketing director of a large multinational looking for new product brochures or a local nightclub looking for posters to promote a club night in Cork, we can now offer exceptionally fast turnarounds for all customers,” Dave McCarthy, director, Woodland Print & Design, explained.

“This is really helping us to win more orders and substantially increase our client base.”

Volume order increase

With speeds of 90 pages per minute for duplex printing available from the Ricoh C901, Woodland Print & Design can offer faster and more customised services to customers, and can increase its volume of orders significantly.

The unit cost per output has also dropped, enabling Woodland Print & Design to be more competitive within the current market.

“Woodland Print & Design is a fantastic model for any Irish business,” Paul Mooney, production print manager, Ricoh Ireland, said.

“While many companies are struggling to stand still in the current climate, the team at Woodland have just had their most successful year ever. This is because they are highly proactive, deliver great customer service and are willing to invest in new technology that gives them a real competitive advantage.”
