US-based global payment solutions provider NxSystems has selected TelecityGroup Ireland’s data centre in Northwest Business Park, Dublin, to host its entire payment platform and database infrastructures – an investment that will create 20 jobs locally over the next 18 months.

NxSystems, which provides businesses worldwide with electronic payment products, chose TelecityGroup for its international operations base because of the highly resilient and secure hosting environment it offered.

“Our payments platforms are the core of our global business; downtime is simply not something our business or customers can ever experience,” said Quent Rickerby, director of international operations for NxSystems, adding that the presence of experienced data centre engineers on site at all times was critical to this decision.

“This was key for us – if one of our systems needs attention at 2am, TelecityGroup has the resources on site to perform the functions we require to keep our infrastructure operational,” he said.

Another crucial factor in the decision process was the resilience and security of the Dublin data centre, which holds an ISO/IEC 27001:2005 security management accreditation. “We have the peace of mind that we have chosen one of the most renowned data centres in Ireland, which provides a fully secure environment for us to operate and adhere to strict banking and card association industry regulations,” said Rickerby.

Finally, the skilled workforce available in Ireland also attracted NxSystems. “Ireland has a great reputation for young, highly skilled and hard-working individuals, which is exactly what we need to help drive our international operations business forward,” said Rickerby.

Join Ireland’s digital leaders who will gather in Dublin on 23 November to discuss cloud computing and the big data revolution at the Cloud Capital Forum.
