ISA to launch Cloud Careers conversion Skillnet

Jobseekers interested in working in the growing cloud business space have an opportunity to carve a career in the area thanks to a new Cloud Careers conversion Skillnet being launched by the Irish Software Association.

The Cloud Careers programme was developed in association with VMware and has already been credited with helping job seekers to get jobs with Irish IT companies.

The programme, which is free to eligible participants, is a nine-month programme which includes three months classroom training, and a six-month work placement in Cork-based cloud computing companies such as EMC, VMware and Dell.

The information evening is free to attend and job seekers will hear from VMware, EMC, Dell Software, Occitital and VCE who will outline the job opportunities for Cloud Careers graduates.

Working with industry in Ireland, ISA Software Skillnet has designed this structured training and work placement programme in line with the requirements of cloud computing firms in Ireland.

The indigenous software technology sector is booming with over 600 companies, employing more than 10,000 people, and sales in excess of €1.7billion every year.

ISA Software Skillnet is an initiative of the Irish Software Association, the representative body for Irish software and digital technology companies. It is funded under the Skillnets Job-Seekers Support Programme (JSSP) and the National Training Fund through the Department of Education and Skills.

The Cloud Careers programme is open for applications and ISA Software Skillnet will hold an information evening for job seekers next Tuesday 6 August at 6pm in VMware, Ballincollig, Cork at 6pm.
