IT distributor DataSolutions has invested €100,000 in new demo labs aimed at showcasing advanced virtualisation, mobility and security technologies.

The first DataSolutions demo workshop will be held this month and will focus on enterprise mobility technology from Citrix.

The €100,000 investment has been funded from accumulated earnings as profits have grown in recent years.

DataSolutions’ partner base includes technology companies such as Citrix, Symantec, Check Point, ShoreTel, Aruba, Dell Wyse, and RSA, the security division of EMC.

DataSolutions has doubled the size of its overall security business in the last three years. It has grown Dell Wyse revenues by 750pc in the past two years and tripled its Check Point business in the same time.

In addition, its virtualisation business has experienced significant growth, increasing revenues by 40pc in 2012, said Francis O’Haire, director of technology and strategy, DataSolutions.

“We have experienced a surge in demand from our existing client base in the areas of mobility and the need to address the security and management challenges arising from the consumerisation of IT.

“With employees taking the lead and bringing work to their personal devices, they have changed the entire concept of the workplace. The first mobility workshops will provide attendees with the opportunity to experience new approaches to addressing employee demand for BYOD and investigate how the Citrix technology can unlock opportunities for their business,” O’Haire said.
