Imagine’s €100m WiMAX investment could create 200 jobs

The broadband provider Imagine, which was founded by telecoms entrepreneur Sean Bolger, has announced it is to invest €100 million in upgrading its technology, a move that could result in the creation of up to 200 new jobs.

The new technology Imagine is investing in is WiMAX.

 WiMAX is a standards-based wireless technology that provides high-throughput broadband connections over long distances.

The technology can be used for a number of applications, including broadband internet connections, hotspot and cellular backhaul and high-speed enterprise connectivity for businesses.
