3CS has announced it has helped more than 90 Irish companies gain specialised knowledge in telecoms, mobile and internet technologies to date.
3CS - the Centre for Converged Services – an innovation and collaborative research centre, linked to Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT), says it helped more than 90 companies with specialised knowledge, research and development, testing and validating products on 3CS’ Next Generation Network (NGN) Test Centre.
“3CS has worked directly with 90 Irish companies on a range of hands-on projects resulting in tangible innovation and growth that is driving Irish industry forward,” said Barry Downes, executive director, 3CS.
“Working with 3CS, you are gaining a partner that is looking at market opportunities and is thinking three to five years ahead.”
“Enterprise Ireland is delighted to fund the Innovation Partnerships and Innovation Vouchers as a way to help Irish technology companies tap into specialised research and knowledge to drive innovation and develop their products,” commented Gearoid Mooney, director, ICT commercialisation, Enterprise Ireland.
One success story of the scheme - Waterford-based Zolk C - specialise in interpretation technology.
“Undertaking an innovation partnership with 3CS was an obvious choice for Zolk C, primarily because of 3CS’ competence and depth of knowledge in the new and emerging mobile platforms and technologies. This depth of knowledge will now give us the edge over our competitors in the international market as technology rapidly evolves in the coming years,” said Paul Savage, CEO of Zolk C.
“The innovation voucher was an ideal stepping stone to make us aware and comfortable with the capability of 3CS before we started to invest our research and development budget with them.”
