Dublin firm Onwards Learning signs e-learning deals worth €4.4m in China

8 Apr 2013

Dublin-headquartered Onwards Learning has signed two major deals in China worth €4.4m over the next three years that will see its English language portal LearnOnEnglish.com marketed to more than 2,000 education locations across China.

The two agreements are with TopStor and Phantosys and will result in Onwards Learning’s portal being marketed into upwards of 2,000 educational locations connected to the CERNET national academic network.

The LearnOnEnglish.com portal offers a wide range of digital language technologies, software apps and courseware, as well as assessment modules and international accreditation services.

TopStor (The Chengzhi Technology Co.) provides infrastructural network storage and security management services to clients throughout the CERNET network. Phantosys (Shenzhen Xin Network Technology Co.) provides desktop software virtualisation technology and services in the educational, state and private sectors throughout China.

The deals come just weeks after Onwards Learning secured an agreement with China’s Central Institute for Vocational and Technical Education (CIVTE) to develop and run an English language e-learning and teaching portal. That deal will see the company provide tailored and aggregated content and apps to be consumed by potentially 30m students.
