The internet of things explained in less than two minutes (video)

22 Oct 2014

There are many definitions of the ‘internet of things’. We rather like this short one from Intel’s VP, internet of things, Philip Moynagh.

Ahead of Silicon Republic’s Innovation Ireland Forum on 24 October in Dublin, we asked Moynagh for his brief description of the internet of things. Moynagh will be going into greater detail at the forum, but we rather liked his answer below.

The words are from an interview with Silicon Republic, and the animation is from innovative young Cork-based visualisation practitioner Think Visual whose team worked their visualisation magic on last year’s Innovation Ireland Forum.

We’re delighted the Think Visual team will be back with us at this year’s forum, where leaders from academia, industry and enterprise will discuss policy and practice when it comes to all things innovation in Ireland. The internet of things and analytics will be just some of the themes tackled on the day.
