Hospital worker suspended after op photos hit Facebook

A hospital worker has been suspended after photos of patients undergoing surgery were posted on social-networking site Facebook.

The patients in the photos were believe to not be identifiable, but they are believed to have been at a hospital in Glasgow, Scotland, the Daily Record reported.

Most, if not all, of the other staff were unaware of any images being snapped during operations, a source told the newspaper. “But the room where they were taken was able to be identified from the NHS insignia in the background.”

The paper claimed the staff member who posted the pictures on Facebook is a nurse.

“We can confirm a member of staff has been suspended pending an internal investigation,” a spokeswoman for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde said.
