Irish developers bring real money poker to Apple devices

Irish developers have launched the first real money online poker site to work on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices.

Switchpoker.com, developed by SawadeeSoft Limited, today launched a site compatible with mobile Apple devices for playing online poker for real money on the go.

“Since the iPhone was launched, there have been calls by poker fans for a place to play poker on it,” said Conor McCarthy, co-founder of SawadeeSoft.

“None of the major or minor sites has done a whole lot about it. With the rapid growth in popularity of iPhones and similar mobile devices, we thought it a good time to create a compatible poker site.”

Apple doesn’t allow for real money poker games on its App store, so SawadeeSoft decided to work around this.

“Instead of building a ‘native’ app and submitting it to their App store, we have instead built (the site) to work via the browser,” said McCarthy.

The reworked site offers no-limit holdem, a popular form of poker. It allows six players to a table to play it either for fake or real money.

For the launch, it’s offering €10 free in chips to the first 250 players who register at the site.

To claim the free chips, players can use the bonus code 10free4me when registering for deposits.

No deposit or payment information is needed to get the bonus.

It is open for players over the age of 18 and they can buy in from €0.20 to €1,000. All games are in euro and are currently unavailable for players based in the US.
