Liam Gallagher’s new single available for free download

Liam Gallagher is hoping that Oasis fans “don’t look back in anger” as his new band releases its first single as a free download.

The ex-Oasis rocker’s new band, Beady Eye, is releasing its new single ‘Bring the Light‘, following a slew of bands that have experienced success by offering material for free download; most notably Radiohead: In Rainbows, Blur: Fool’s Day, and Gruff Rhys: Shark Ridden Waters.

Gallagher will no doubt hope his fans will “roll with it” when the single becomes available from 10:00GMT on his band’s website this Wednesday, 10 November.

The album will be available to buy in 2011 but whether or not it will go “supersonic” and “live forever” like the music of Oasis remains to be seen.

Providing free downloads to the public has met controversy from some corners in the music industry, with arguments that it promotes illegal downloading among the opposition.
