Online classified adverts site DoneDeal.ie says it is now in pole position for people wishing to sell and buy cars, as it claims its Motoring section is now Ireland’s most visited, following an independent ABC audit.

Speaking today, Fred Karlsson, co-founder of DoneDeal, said the website had been “overwhelmed” by the positive response it is getting from the public, particularly in relation to its Motoring section.

“We have always been proud of our Motoring section, which continues to be our most popular area of the site. People seek an easy and safe channel to buy and sell cars and I am delighted that these ABC audit figures confirm that Cars.donedeal.ie is now the website of choice for buying and selling cars in Ireland.”

Based on its latest monthly ABC figures, DoneDeal now has more than 50,000 car ads active on the site. In addition to this, there are more than 35,000 other ads in the Motor section, which cover Car Extras, Rally Cars, Vintage Cars, Mobile Homes, Motorbikes and many more.

In order to build upon and maintain this popularity for Motoring searches, DoneDeal has undertaken a new car search feature, with visitors to cars.donedeal.ie now being able to search for a car by both make and model.

On average, 85,000 new items are advertised each month on the overall DoneDeal.ie site, with products ranging from art and antiques, right through to video games and vehicles. The site currently has more than 160,000 active adverts.

DoneDeal has also just launched a free iPhone app.

Founded in 2005 by Fred and Geraldine Karlsson, the business today claims more than 2m unique visitors to its website every month, according to independent website metrics company Ireland Metrix.
