YouTube seeks next cooking and fitness training video stars

18 Oct 2011

YouTube has launched a programme to help YouTube partners involved in cooking or fitness training become the next online video stars.

Applicants must be a YouTube partner, a programme which lets popular online video producers earn revenue from their YouTube content.

Each programme will offer 16 winning participants the chance to take part in a three-month virtual class held on Google+ Hangouts.

They will each receive equipment for it worth more than US$5,000, mentoring from industry leaders, filming and editing lessons and more than US$10,000 worth of promotion on YouTube to help them earn more revenue from their videos.

The competition is open to YouTube partners from Ireland, Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, South Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States. Their YouTube channels must be focused predominantly on cooking or fitness training.

Entries can be submitted wither through YouTube Next Chef or YouTube Next Trainer. The closing date for entries is 25 October and the winners will be announced on 9 November.
