10m copies of Angry Birds Space downloaded in three days

26 Mar 2012

Rovio has tweeted (appropriately enough) that its latest game Angry Birds Space has been downloaded 10m times in three days.

The games maker hasn’t elaborated on which three days but it is likely referring to the first three days after the game launched on 22 March.

Angry Birds Space sees gamers battle a new factor – gravity, or lack of – while battling pigs in space.

The new game was launched across iOS, Android, Mac and PC platforms.

Since the game first debuted on iPhones in 2009 more than 500m copies of Angry Birds have been downloaded across all platforms.

In February, Angry Birds debuted as an app on Facebook and last week it emerged that Rovio plans to launch theme parks in the UK with an emphasis on physical activity and tackling childhood obesity.
