New figures from StatCounter reveal that Google’s Chrome web browser is now the world’s most used browser, bypassing Microsoft’s Internet Explorer.

According to live figures on StatCounter, Chrome now accounts for 32.76pc of the global market with Internet Explorer dipping to 31.94pc.

Mozilla’s Firefox has about 25pc of the global market.

Apple’s Safari web browser has 7.16pc of the market while Opera has 1.76pc of the global market.

StatCounter is a Dublin-based company started up by Aodhan Cullen.

Chrome passed out Internet Explorer for a day in March and it will be interesting to see if it holds its steady trajectory.
