Google tweaks search for places on mobile
On Friday, Google made a slight change to its local information results in mobile search, offering more details instantly and a new layout to help users make decisions faster and easier.
Now, when you search for, say, “restaurants in Dublin”, you’ll see the usual places results coming with local information, only now, when you click a link, you’ll be brought to a summary of the business with reviews, photos and more details – similar to the local information you see when searching on a desktop.
But that’s not the best part. To view other links you don’t have to track back and forth to the results page. All you have to do is swipe left and right to scan results and compare options.
This service enhancement has already been rolled out on Android and iOS.
