The made-over Twitter bird

Twitter has become one of the go-to social media platforms for sharing images and information and a new infographic presents plenty of facts and figures on where the popular microblogging site is today.

Packed with stats, the infographic by Infographic Labs published on Visual.ly charts the top 3 countries in terms of Twitter usage, the busiest times in Twitter history, the five most popular Twitter users by number of followers, a brief history of Twitter, what makes Twitter users retweet, how users access Twitter, how users decide who to follow on Twitter, Twitter’s growth, and more!

Some of the more notable facts on the infographic are 11 Twitter accounts are created every second, 175m tweets are generated per day, and 69pc of Twitter users determine who to follow based on friends’ suggestions.

It looks like Twitter’s growth will only continue. The company recently created branded hashtag pages for sporting events and gave the bird in its logo a haircut (the tuft on the top of its head is gone), ie, giving its branding a bit of a makeover.
