From next week, UPC customers in Cork, Limerick, Galway and Waterford will be provided with UPC’s new On Demand TV service, which gives viewers access to the RTÉ Player, 3player, TV box sets and movies on demand.
UPC’s On Demand TV service began rolling out to Dublin customers in May, with more than one-third now enabled, and the aim is to deliver it to 600,000 homes by summer’s end. In its first month, the service saw more than 1m views and has since breached the 2m mark.
From 25 July next week, the service will begin rolling out to a further 188,000 homes in Cork, Galway, Limerick and Waterford, as well as Shannon in Co Clare, and Naas and Newbridge in Co Kildare.
The expansion to on-demand TV has been made possible by UPC’s $500m investment in its fibre-powered network nationwide.
