Wrestling icons such as Hulk Hogan, Bobby Roode and Kurt Angle will feature in a new game from Dublin-based developer Fantom created in partnership with TNA Impact.

The game will allow Facebook users to trade wrestlers from the roster of big name wrestlers and complete a digital sticker album and unlock digital rewards.

TNA Impact is home to wrestling icons such as Hogan, Roode and Angle and it is the first entertainment company to use Fantom’s digital sticker album on Facebook.

According to Fantom CEO Paul Healy TNA Impact is one of a number of large entertainment brands to use the game as a digital engagement tool.

“We are really pleased at the level of engagement and virality, of what is a simple collecting game,” Healy said.

“Practically everyone who plays has passed it on to their friends on Facebook. That is game developer gold.”

According to digital research analysts Superdata collectible card games (CCGs) are one of the fastest growing segments among online games. Practically non-existent in 2008, digital CCGs had grown to $191M by 2010, and is expected to grow to $714M by 2014.
