New comScore data reported that RTÉ.ie had the most visitors of any website in Ireland in August. The top 5 overall domains with the most unique visitors included Google, Facebook, YouTube and RTÉ.ie.

According to the broadcaster, RTÉ.ie performed strongly in August in different content categories as defined by comScore.

The most popular sections on RTÉ.ie are RTÉ.ie/News, RTÉ.ie/Player, RTÉ.ie/Sport, and RTÉ.ie/Ten.

Comprehensive coverage of the Olympics, Paralympics, the All-Ireland, and the start of the Premier League made RTÉ.ie/Sport the most popular sports site.

In recent weeks, the director of RTÉ Digital Múirne Laffan told Siliconrepublic.com that 60pc of the broadcaster’s web traffic was coming from mobile devices.

“This report shows how loyal RTÉ.ie’s audience is, with an average of nine visits per user in August,” Conor Mullen, commercial director, RTÉ Digital, said.

“This is the best performance of an Irish media site – and delivers tremendous value to users and to advertisers alike in terms of the quality of the content RTE.ie delivers to its audiences,” Mullen said.
