Founded by ex-Myspace executives, Gogobot is an online travel service for the social-media age. We caught up with Gogobot CEO Travis Katz at the Dublin Web Summit this week.

Gogobot, which is backed by Battery Ventures, connects users with friends to make planning and sharing travels fun by leveraging social media.

The San Francisco, California-based company was founded by ex-Myspace executive Travis Katz and former Yahoo! chief architect Ori Zaltzman.

Prior to founding Gogobot, Katz ran the international business for MySpace, as well as IGN, Rotten Tomatoes and other Fox Interactive Media properties.

Katz launched the MySpace business in 30 countries and grew the user base to nearly 70m unique visitors.

Prior to joining MySpace, he co-founded Fox Interactive Media, News Corp's digital arm. He spent several years doing high-tech work at McKinsey & Co, and spent four years doing economic development work at the World Bank.
