Social media giant Twitter has introduced a much anticipated (and awaited) archive function that lets its 200m active users download all of their tweets – going back to the start!
“Today, we’re introducing the ability to download your Twitter archive, so you’ll get all your Tweets (including Retweets) going back to the beginning,” Mollie Vandor of the User Services Engineering team at Twitter said in the Twitter blog.
“Once you have your Twitter archive, you can view your Tweets by month, or search your archive to find Tweets with certain words, phrases, hashtags or @usernames. You can even engage with your old Tweets just as you would with current ones,” she said.
The archive function is currently in the process of rolling out and some users can currently access their archive by going into settings and at the bottom of the settings list and clicking on an an option to request your archive.
Those lucky enough to see the request archive button at this point will after clicking the button receive an email with a list of instructions on how to access their archive when its ready to download.
