Your How To Do, a YouTube channel set up by two friends from Mullingar in Ireland’s Midlands, has won US$4,000 worth of production equipment and promotion on YouTube as part of YouTube’s search for the next how-to gurus.
Dara Coyne and Brendan Brady’s channel Your How To Do has been named as one of the top 15 ‘How to’ channels on YouTube.
The duo will now also receive a private Google+ workshop series from industry experts and YouTube staff.
In December, YouTube launched the search for the best ‘How to’ lessons on the web to try to find the most unique, talented DIY channels on YouTube. Your How To Do channel was selected from the hundreds of entries as one of the best ‘How to’ channels in the world.
The Westmeath duo set up their YouTube channel in 2011 to teach people about some of their favourite things, such as football skills and pen tapping. Their most popular videos are the football skills videos.
To date, the channel has had more than 7.4m views and more than 24,400 subscribers. Coyne and Brady record their tutorials together and Coyne edits the videos.
“We set up our channel because we both love to learn new things and YouTube allows us to share our knowledge and experience with the world,” Coyne explained.
“The feedback from our viewers has been amazing. We get lots requests to cover new tricks or tips and we try to cover as much as we can, but we still have a lot more to do and this motivates us to keep making our tutorials,” Coyne said.
