Having been instrumental in its revival, episodes from the third season of dramatic crime television series The Killing will reach Netflix UK & Ireland members just one week after they debut on US television later this year.

AMC and Fox Television Studios announced a third season of the critically acclaimed drama in January and production on the series began in February and is expected to finish this summer.

“Our agreement with Netflix played an extremely significant part in the studio’s strategy that enabled us to bring The Killing back for a third season,” said David Madden, president of Fox Television Studios. “We are delighted to be in business with Netflix to deliver season 3, as well as past seasons of The Killing to a broader audience worldwide.”

As indicated by Madden’s comments, more episodes of the American series – which is adapted from Danish series Forbrydelsen, also available on Netflix – will soon be coming to Netflix viewers. From 2 May, season 2 will be available to watch in full on demand.

Madden also promises wicked twists and a climactic end-of-season resolution from season 3, which introduces new cast member Peter Sarsgaard.
