Paddy Proof app lets users test their Irishness while raising funds for cancer support

15 Mar 2013

A new app released in time for the St Patrick’s Day festivities this weekend features a quiz to discern just how Irish you are, and every download will result in a donation to Macmillan Cancer Support.

The Paddy Proof app has been created by 3Sixty Create for a St Patrick’s Day fundraiser spearheaded by Paul Rankin, celebrity chef and commercial controller of Irwin’s Bakery. Available to iPhone and iPad users for free from the App Store, donations for each download will come from Irwin’s Rankin Selection bakery range.

The answers to the app’s questions will be obvious to a pure-blood Irish man or woman, but will probably catch out any plastic Paddys among us.

“What’s an Irish person’s favourite food? Can you sing along to Ireland’s most famous ballad? Even if you’re a long way from Tipperary, the app is a fantastic way to become an honorary Paddy for the day!” explained Rankin. “Just as US President Barack Obama traced his Irish ancestry, you can use my app to answer a few quirky questions and find out if you really have the luck of the Irish and the gift of the gab!”

The app can also be used for free on Facebook.
