The saying goes “it you can’t beat ’em, join ’em” and one man in Cork has done just that where the floods in the city are concerned by swimming down Oliver Plunkett Street.
In a 20-second video posted on video-sharing site YouTube by Jonathan Healy, the man, clad only in a pair of trunks, swims down one of Cork City’s main shopping thoroughfares.
The video begins by depicting the man swimming on his back before he reverts to a front crawl. Then he stands up and disappears into a doorway along the street.
Met Éireann has forecast a wet and windy morning in Ireland, with strong winds and high tides causing some coastal flooding along the south coast. Skies are expected to clear later in the day.
