As Facebook readies itself for a 10th birthday celebration tomorrow, we look back on some regretful status updates, comments and photo uploads – the mistakes that remind us to think twice before we type.

Having amassed over 1.2bn monthly active users in a decade, Facebook’s growth curve has been phenomenally steep. But, as new members worldwide sign up in their droves, some of them may need some lessons in social networking.

Some users don’t seem to know the difference between posting publicly and privately while others quickly forget the friends they have added and who can read their posts.

So, on the eve of Facebook’s 10th anniversary, here’s to the ill-advised status updates, misguided comments, bad grammar, questionable photographs, confused parents, over-shares and clever replies that make this far-reaching social network so entertaining.
