Hilarious SWA flight attendant

I’m sure that doling out the safety instructions at the start of every flight is as dull for the air stewards as it is for the passengers listening in. But this witty steward has a unique take that gains the entire aircraft’s attention – and their applause!

Kids react to Walkmans

Kids today know nothing of the world of cassette tapes of yore, and as much is proved when these youngsters are baffled by a Sony Walkman – once the must-have gadget of its time. Oh, the injustice of having to place a physical cassette in a player and having to fast-forward and rewind to scan songs – nay, the inhumanity!

Paddy and Nico’s spectacular salsa

Britain’s Got Talent is back on our screens and the show is known to turn up a choice YouTube clip or two, particularly from the auditions round. Sometimes the talent being showcased is strange, sometimes it’s surprising – the latter being the case for Paddy, a near-80-year-old grandmother, who performed a salsa dance with her instructor, Nico. The dance might be slow to start but, trust me, watch to the end and you’ll feel invigorated (and more than a little bit jealous of granny’s gams).

Kicked in the head by a train

A more traditional way to travel the UK and Ireland would be by train – just don’t stand too close to the tracks or a wayward foot might clobber you.

How Frozen should have ended

The following viral video comes with a mild Frozen spoiler alert, starting with the fact that this movie’s biggest problems could have been solved from the beginning if Elsa’s parents had taught their daughter to think of her powers as a gift, not a curse. Of course, there’s another movie franchise that can help in that endeavour…

Russian ghost car

Dashboard videos are probably growing to become one of Russia’s greatest exports and this one has clocked up over 300,000 views in four days as viewers try to figure out where in God’s name that car came from. This GIF tries to explain the car’s origins, but I’d still like to put in a call to Peter Venkman.

The futility of existence

We end this week’s viral round-up on a more sombre note, with a video that truly poses the hard questions of life: why are we here? What’s the meaning of it all? How do you overcome this damned gate?
