25 Apr 2014

Siliconrepublic.com beat off intense competition to win the ‘Best Tech Read’ category at the Littlewoods Ireland Blog and Online Publishing Awards 2014 in Dublin last night.

More than 23,000 votes were cast across categories spanning food, travel, motoring, technology, and fashion and beauty, to name a few.

The awards celebrated the flourishing online publishing industry in Ireland.

The Journal scooped the prize for Best News & Current Affairs Read, while Her.ie and Joe.ie won awards for Best Fashion Read and Best Motoring Read respectively.

The award is the latest in a string of accolades for Siliconrepublic.com. In November, the site was named Best Science and Technology Site at the Realex Fire Web Awards for the sixth year in a row.

The Littlewoods Ireland Blog and Online Publishing Awards were organised by media photo-sharing start-up PR Slides, which was founded by Niall Harbison and Emma Jane Power, and which raised €500,000 in investment in January of this year.
