Rubberbandts - Fellas (ft Gabriel Byrne)

This week in viral videos, the Rubberbandits get a little too f-word happy, Assassin’s Creed gets parkour, and the joys of every vacation.

About 100 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute, 500 years of video watched on Facebook every day, and more than 700 YouTube videos shared on Twitter each minute, ensuring there is always video trending on the web.

With so much video available for viewing, we take a look at some of the viral videos that have caught our eye this week.

Rubberbandits – Fellas (ft Gabriel Byrne) (NSFW)

Right off the bat, this is a warning that this video, while not visually graphic, has as many f-words as Martin Scorsese’s Casino.

The Irish duo Rubberbandits have established themselves as one of Ireland’s regular hit generators, with songs such as Horse Outside, which reached No 1 in the charts, and with Fellas, which challenges a particular taboo of Irish society in a way that will no doubt blindside you if you haven’t heard it before.

Assassins Creed Unity meets parkour in real life

Performed by Ronnie Shalvis and the French FreeRun Family, this marks yet another promotional video by the parkour guys for the latest game in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, French Revolution, taking place during, yes you guessed it, the French revolution.

Quite honestly, from a personal point of view, the parkour itself doesn’t appear to be quite as amazing as some other notable examples, but the fact they’re running around in 18th century-style clothing is hardly the most aerodynamic and light clothing.

The four-man team has specifically been chosen to promote the games’ new ability to play four-player co-op, which is pretty impressive, but I doubt they can justify hunting and killing two French soldiers for a rather minor offence.

The Avengers – 8-Bit Cinema

There’s nothing quite like the nostalgic enjoyment an experienced gamer has when playing an old 8-bit side-scrolling video game and it seems it is becoming increasingly common to ‘8-bit’ popular movies.

In the most recent case, CineFix 8-bit The Avengers film from 2012 features all the digital versions of the Hulk, Captain America and Iron Man returning to glory.

As one of those previously mentioned nostalgic gamers, I have to say it’s a pretty glorious site, even if you were never a particular fan of the last Avengers film.

Glove and Boots – Job Interview Tips

Have you ever walked into a job interview wearing no pants and a 30-page long CV written in crayon and wondered why you never got that job?

Well, fear no more! The loveable puppets give genuine points for going through a job interview, albeit it in a rather funny way.

One YouTube commenter (yes, sometimes the comments section actually has interesting points that are not sexist, racist or moronic) even went as far to say: “OK this is just absolute truth – Seeing (as) I hire people … they need to watch this …”

Crazy circle illusion!

When is a circle not a circle? When a mathematician or illusionist tells you, that’s when.

In this case, the YouTuber who goes by the name ‘brusspup’ features a range of illusionary yet scientific videos and, in this case, the moving points look like they’re travelling in a circle when in reality that is far from what’s happening. Sit back and watch it unfold.

I’m On Vacation

As this reporter eagerly awaits his own holiday, and for everyone else yet to take theirs, here’s a song that definitely should appeal to you.

Rhett & Link sum up how even if you’re holiday plans aren’t exactly working out as you hoped and even if you accidentally unleash a zombie apocalypse, you can still say it’s better than having to be in work.

Deer walks up and licks the lens of my camera

The sight of a herd of deer in a forest or woodland area is usually greeted by joy followed by ‘damn!’, as they sense your presence and run away.

Not for this deer, though. The friendly creature comes right up to the camera and licks the lens, but the person who captured the video was not doing this for fun, rather to show the dangers of feeding wild deer from the back garden.

A Film For Ella

Jack Garrity, aka YouTuber JacksGap, has put together a rather well-edited video of him trying to surprise his girlfriend who has travelled to Australia, much like many British and Irish teens looking for some sun, sea and high Australian wages.

Once again, reading through the comment section actually makes you feel a little sad for the fangirls who obviously appreciate the good-looking lad a little too much. “Breaks my heart into billion pieces,” said one comment. “Well, this is what you get when you’re in love with someone who doesn’t know the existence of you. Forever alone level: 100. Happy for you Ella!”

Nice of her to be happy for Ella, I suppose.
