Facebook tests new search function for mobile app

1 Sep 2014

Facebook users may soon find it easier to locate old posts and chats with friends by typing keywords into a new search feature on the social network’s mobile app.

The new feature is still in development and is being tested on mobile devices, TechCrunch reports.

The new search function, according to Dumb Out, will also enable users to look up and locate more specific information, such as content from pages they have followed, the title of a song featured in a YouTube video a friend has shared, or a link to a website a friend posted on Facebook awhile back.

TechCrunch reports the feature is an expansion of Facebook’s ‘Graph Search’, which allows users to find certain information compared with known variables.
