Gmail 5.0 on Android to offer Outlook and Yahoo! email in app

21 Oct 2014

Gmail for Android is soon to undergo one of its biggest overhauls with the release of the Android Lollipop operating system by giving users the ability to manage multiple email services.

This not only applies to multiple Gmail accounts, but also lets users manage their Outlook and Yahoo! email accounts by simply swiping their profile box.

While full details have yet to be released on what’s in store for the Gmail 5.0, Android Police has managed to obtain some initial images and video which appear to show Gmail 5.0 will now follow the cleaner Android design due to appear in Lollipop, in particular the circular avatars.

Also, new emails can be written by clicking the small circular button in the right-hand corner of the screen.

A number of Google’s apps in recent weeks have been overhauled to fit in with Android Lollipop’s impending changes, particularly its Newsstand app, but Gmail will not be given a full release until the operating system comes out next month on a limited number of devices.
