Instagram hadn’t enough filters, so here are five new filters – is that enough filters yet?

18 Dec 2014

In what is surely now just an internal game at Instagram to see how many ridiculously-named filters it can create, Slumber, Crema, Ludwig, Aden and Perpetua have emerged.

Hot on the heels of Mayfair and Willow (way back in December 2012), the company has released the five new filters to help photographers avoid standard imagery even easier.

The company says the new filters come on the back of camera capability improvements, and the “creativity within the community, not only in the moments they share, but in the time spent carefully composing and editing photos and videos to bring out emotions and make them beautiful.”

However there is one other element in the changes that is far more impressive, the creation of a ‘manage’ button to help organise your favourite filters so you don’t have to scan across every time you use them.

Here are the new filters, with Silicon Republic’s immediate reviews.

Normal: “A bit blue”                                       Perpetua: “A bit sickly”                          Ludwig: “Rich, high contrast”

Slumber: “Made the gold even twinklier”   Aden: “But…my phone says Jamae?!”      Crema: “A bit desaturated”
