Cable broadband player UPC has upgraded broadband speeds for SMEs and small office home office (SOHO) workers to 6Mbps, 10Mbps and 20Mbps.
The new high speeds will be relevant to over 300,000 businesses in key cities and regional towns around the country.
The company says it will also be offering digital telephony services to businesses that sign up or upgrade to the new services.
“Using our next-generation cable infrastructure offers a compelling alternative to DSL/ADSL providers and delivers fast, dependable speeds,” explains Gary David Jordan, SME channel manager at UPC Business.
“For the first time in Ireland’s history, SMEs are not forced to use an outdated infrastructure or resort to third-party broadband services. Today’s SMEs deserve better and UPC Business has answered their call,” Jordan says.
Each business and SoHo worker that signs up for the new service will be issued with a static IP address to allow virtual private network connectivity, as well as the ability to sign up for number translation to give SME and SoHo operators geographic anonymity.
“UPC Business continues to work on critical networking solutions for SMEs,” Jordan adds. “They will now be offered reliable high speed broadband and digital telephony uniquely tailored to suit their requirements at an affordable cost.
“Alternative operators such as UPC Business that provide compelling products, services and applications, together with affordable pricing, as part of a bundled broadband and voice solution are well positioned to take the lead role in the marketplace,” he says.
