Sogeti buys Vizuri – aims to emerge as global force in software testing

10.10.2008
Sogeti has consolidated its standing as a major player in the software testing business through the acquisition of UK-based Vizuri. The move will see Sogeti grow in the UK to over 250 staff.

The move is reminiscent of Sogeti’s acquisition of Dublin- and Galway-based Insight Test Services in April this year, for an undisclosed sum. At the time, it was predicted Sogeti would grow the operation to 200 this year, but employment at Sogeti Ireland will stand at around 180 by the end of the year, the company’s managing director Declan Kavanagh said.

Kavanagh said move was further evidence of Sogeti’s ambitious growth plans in Ireland and the UK.

“Both Sogeti Ireland and Sogeti UK have complementary strengths and services that they will bring to the market. In particular, our IT security competence has been significantly boosted by this latest acquisition.

“We now have over 3,000 testing specialists across the world with 2,250 in Europe and 750 in India, plus a further 5,000 applications specialists so we can provide Irish clients with the most cost-effective solutions onshore or offshore, Kavanagh said.

Vizuri is one of the UK’s main specialist software quality assurance, test and security consultancies and has over 50 clients.

“We believe that through the acquisition of Vizuri, we will immediately be able to provide a broader, deeper range of services to all of our clients,” explained Richard Terry, managing director of Sogeti UK.

“Furthermore, the combined organisation gives us the critical mass to accelerate the growth of the business to achieve a market leadership position.”
