Google to launch cloud storage service 'Drive' to rival Dropbox?

Ireland’s technology news service siliconrepublic.com was recognised on Saturday night as ‘Best Technology Website’ at the inaugural Moviestar Irish Web Awards.
At a fun-packed ceremony at the SAS Radisson Hotel in Dublin’s city centre, 2FM DJ Rick O’Shea did his best to manage an excited crowd of over 300 people – including a red bewigged, head-banging team from Spunout.ie – as the strictly non-blacktie event unfolded.
As one of only two people in a penguin outfit, Damien Mulley’s organisational abilities were evident at what can only be described as the fastest-paced awards ceremony Ireland has to offer, even if you include speeches.
But every rose has its thorn; the event was running ahead of schedule until the laptop powering the slides went kaput. Mulley yesterday assured the blogosphere that it was not caused a Windows error but he himself knocking out the power.
