Mobile domain player releases version 2.1 of DeviceAtlas

Dublin-headquartered mobile domain provider dotMobi has launched version 2.1 of its DeviceAtlas, which it describes as the world’s most comprehensive mobile development database.

DeviceAtlas 2.1 includes a number of key features, including data analytics and improved search capabilities, as well as automated phone capability tests and the ability to download personalised versions of the database.

DeviceAtlas 2.1 also heralds the introduction of Motorola and Sprint as forthcoming contributors of device data to the DeviceAtlas database alongside other companies, including Sony Ericsson, Nokia, Vodafone and Bango.

With DeviceAtlas, developers are able to work more closely with both handset manufacturers, and mobile operators to create ‘device-aware’ content with the most up-to-date information available.

“With DeviceAtlas, we have created the most complete database of handset data out there,” explained Trey Harvin, CEO of dotMobi.

“The addition of Motorola’s device data ensures the comprehensiveness of DeviceAtlas. Sprint's participation in DeviceAtlas complements that its industry-leading open approach to working with application developers through the Sprint Application Developer Program and Professional Developer Program.
