Some 200 credit unions across Ireland are to have critical data backed up securely at the click of a button.

A new partnership between online backup provider keepITsafe, and NSSL, a specialist in computer networks and solutions, will see the duo rolling out the keepITsafe online backup solution to 200-plus credit unions over the next 12 to 18 months.

In recent times, keepITsafe has successfully installed 20 credit unions with its online backup solution, ensuring that customer accounts and sensitive business information is now securely backed up over the internet to multiple data centres, monitored 24/7 by the team.

According to Graham Howell, sales director at NSSL: “It was in our interest to move our client to the keepITsafe solution. The key area that we, as a service provider, will benefit from is the fact we have a 100pc guarantee that our client’s data is secure.”

As data and servers in credit unions have increased dramatically, online backup has been an obvious step for securing data.

The biggest benefit that keepITsafe can give customers is the capacity to restore data at the click of a button. With the advent of data vaulting and offsite backup solutions, companies can completely eliminate the potential for data loss,” said Eoin Blacklock (pictured), managing director, keepITsafe.
