As well as getting some additional features, the new beta release of Google’s Chrome web browser is up to 35pc faster than the current build.
Although Google removed the beta tag from its browser in December 2008, it has reintroduced it to test some new features, such as form autofill, full-page zoom and autoscroll.
There is also new tab functionality, whereby dragging a tab out to the edge can create a side-by-side view of the two windows open in the browser.
As reported on Google’s new Chrome blog, the beta release was 25pc faster on the SunSpider Benchmark and 35pc faster on the V8 Benchmark Suite 3.
You can download and try out the new Chrome beta here, but the browser is still not available for Mac users.
