Nokia N97 to come pre-loaded with Qik

Nokia’s forthcoming flagship smartphone, the N97, will come pre-loaded with live video-streaming application Qik when it launches on 16 June next week.

The mobile manufacturer has chosen Qik as the official live mobile video service for all of its Symbian handsets, which means it will be coming pre-loaded on all Nokia Series S60 phones in future.

With Qik, Nokia N97 users will be able to film video footage, stream it live on the internet, or upload later and share with friends, or upload for public viewing. So whether you want to send a personal video message to your loved ones or ‘broadcast’ live from an exclusive event, Qik is now enabling all Nokia Symbian users to make creating and sharing video as easy and accessible as texting or making a call.

The new Qik application for the N97 will have a touchscreen interface and supports 19 languages including UK English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, Arabic and Hebrew.

With support for nHD quality video, with a widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio, Qik has upped the ante in high-definition mobile video streaming.
