Software and services multinational Novell has added its name to the list of manufacturers supporting Nokia and Intel’s jointly developed MeeGo platform for next-generation mobile computing devices.
Novell said it will be releasing SUSE MeeGo as a fully supported operating system for netbooks and expects it to be pre-installed on a number of devices from OEMs within the next year.
SUS MeeGo is built on the codestream from the Linux-based MeeGo Project and follows the recent project release of MeeGo v1.0 – a stable core foundation for developers to work on application development and UX for netbooks.

Novell will be showcasing SUSE MeeGo 1.0 at the Computex conference in Taipei from today.
